Applies To:

Item: TR26
Fits: All

2) As a support for High Lift jacking operations on uneven or soft ground.

One of each pair of ChockTraks incorporates a cut out in the ground blades and side guides in which the base of a standard Hi-lift jack can nestle so reducing the chance of the jack sinking or slipping sideways because in the increased area of contact with the ground.

Take care in positioning the modified ChockTrak directly below the jack load and adjust the position, if the jack moves out of vertical when the load is applies.

The second ChockTrak should be employed in keeping a non-jacked wheel from rolling.

3) As a general purpose terrain ladder

This has been extensively tested on mud, sand and light snow and found to greatly improve the chances of vehicle recovery. A pair of ChockTraks can be used under both wheels of one axle of on different axles depending on the problem. 2 pairs make recovery even more certain. Bear in mind that on sand or loose stones every revolution of a stuck wheel make the situation worse. Far better to use your ChockTracks before you are completely dug in.

Place an opened out ChockTrak in front of each wheel, which is stuck with the ribs uppermost. Push the device as far under the wheel as possible using your feet. As the wheel spins and gains grip the ChockTrak will be drawn underneath until the vehicle moves. Do not use excessive wheel spin as this merely wears the tires and make sure there are no personal nearby in case the device is thrown out at the rear of the tire.

Go Safely

As with all equipment used in difficult conditions, the safety aspect of what you do depends very much on how you do it. The same applies to ChockTraks, even after extensive field-testing. This device should never be used in a situation where its failure to perform could threaten life or cause injury. Used carefully, it will provide a new solution to many recovery requirements. Use without thought for the consequences may lead to disaster.
